Every year the local comittee in Karlsruhe invites ca. 50 students from all over the world

to spend one week talking about a social relevant topic and to network – since 1969.

This year's topic is „trade free– treat fair“ and deals with the problem of european agricultural subsidies and their influence on developing economies. For years european farmers have received subsidies and we would like to discuss the effects of the policy on less economically developed countries. By means of workshops, excursions and discussions we try to learn more about the topic and come up with solutions. A highlight will be the world trade forum where the delegates, from across the world, are supposed to discuss there ideas with experts and interested german students.

Furthermore TWIN also sets a focus on intercultural understanding. In order to achieve this we plan to visit the european parliament in Strasbourg, the lovely city of Heidelberg and an agricultural company. Our international guests stay with AIESECers from Karlsruhe to further deepen the cultural experience. Also the delegates will host a "global village" on the university campus to include other students.
